Slide Content
Slide 1Lesson1-slider1 Introduction: Welcome students and share a personal story related to mindfulness. “Welcome! I’m so excited to take you on a fun Ocean Adventure! Together, we’ll explore not only the wonders of the ocean but also the amazing world within ourselves.”Why learn this in schools? We’re here to discover our inner world. Just like the ocean has a rich, hidden world beneath its surface, so do we—our thoughts, feelings, and sensations. Let’s dive in!
Slide 2Lesson1-slider2

What Will We Learn? This year, we’ll explore:

  • The ocean and its incredible creatures
  • Mindfulness through ocean themes
  • Games and stories to help us connect with our “inner ocean”

Our oceans are full of life—just like our minds. Let’s learn to pay attention to that magic.

Slide 3Lesson1-slider3 Watch & Observe: Let’s watch a short video on ocean life. As we watch, observe the different shapes, colors, and sizes of the fish. Watch the video hereDiscovery Questions: • What did you notice about the fish? • How were you practicing mindfulness while watching?
Slide 4Lesson1-slider4 What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment—both inside and outside—with openness, kindness, and curiosity.Class Questions: • What are you noticing around you right now? • Why might it be important to pay attention to what’s happening inside and outside of us?
Slide 5Lesson1-slider5

Optional Game: Let’s explore how different images make us feel.

  • Show students a series of images for 8–10 seconds each
  • Ask them to notice how each image makes them feel in their body

Prompt: “Pay attention to sensations in your heart, chest, shoulders, back, etc.”

Slide 6 Reflection: • What did you feel when looking at nature vs. pollution? • What images made you feel good or sad? • Where in your body did you feel it?You just practiced body awareness—a key part of mindfulness!
Slide 7Lesson1-slider7

Weekly Practice: “Let’s notice our inner ocean.”Practice Tips:

  • Take 1 minute to sit quietly
  • Ask: “What thoughts, emotions, or sensations are present right now?”
  • Observe without judgment

Encourage students to do this daily—before class or during transitions.
